The term apocalypse and its various derivatives evoke images of the end of the world and strange symbols in the minds of many. It can be intimidating to approach these works in a scholarly way because of the various ways in which they have been utilized by people throughout history to serve their different purposes. The purpose of this LibGuide is to inform students of important works that are general in focus. The DTL offers many other works on apocalypse and apocalyptic literature but they tend to be very narrowly focused, whereas these books and articles offer a more general introduction to the genre.
